The idea is that doing something everyday makes it a part of your life and if it is something that makes you happy then you will be happier everyday. I chose waking up early because I randomly get up and this doesn't help my mood or productivity when I do. I have a pretty heavy workload and want to have some extra time in the morning to get things done, but also to enjoy some breakfast and relax before starting the day, which I normally don't do when I wake up 10 minutes before class. Getting up early will give me a feeling of pride that I have much work completed before my day is normally even started.
After trying this out for the week, with pretty moderate success I felt pretty happy. It felt good to have my mind set on something and then make attempts to go through with it even though I didn't get it all the time. I will definitely try this in the future when there is something that I want to make a daily habit...
