The experiment I chose was "Schedule Time for Play". This experiment is base on the notion that everyone should 'pencil' in some time to play in their schedule. Although, it may seem as though if the occasion to laugh and play comes we will seize, but that is not always the case. I did not have the same problem as Gretchen, I did not to need to find time to play, more like I needed to find a good amount of time to play. It is typical for a college Freshmen to go wild and party Thursday through Sunday. However, this is not my idea of play at all, thus it was hard to see that maybe I was playing a little too much. I love to read and hang out with friends. Last semester I had a lot of fun cruising at 3 am and sleeping until 11 or 12 the next day. However, this fun always came with a side of guilt the next day for missing classes and sleeping the day away.
This semester I have tried to cut back on the late night rides and try to be in my room by 10 or 11. Once assigned this project I stuck to it even more. This past week I did not feel so guilty and this whole semester I have attended my classes almost perfectly, a drastic change from the fall. I no longer feel guilty and feel much happier knowing that I am not just wasting my days away. Because our problems were different Gretchen and I's results also differed. However, we both did receive positive results. I plan on keeping this up of course because it is very beneficial and part of growing up and being independent.
