This past week I had a hefty paper due in my composition class. Since I put the class off for too long I am well past worrying about getting to 4 pages! But this assignment was still frustrating me because I was not a big fan of the topic. The night before it was due I planned to play a few games of racquetball and then write the paper. After several very intense games I was exhausted, but also clear headed and ready to write the paper. I went into the library with absolutely no trace of my frustration or distaste for the assignment, I was only thinking about the words I would be putting into the paper.
My fingers worked furiously across the keyboard and the words just appeared. Playing racquetball is always a relaxing, fun experience and I always leave feeling more energized and much calmer. It allowed me to focus only on what I needed to do and not let any other thoughts enter the thunderdome of my mind.
Definitely boosted my performance because I was ready to work and I completed the paper in much less time than I had planned.

  1. I can understand where you are coming from. I was dreading this blog because I was not sure what to write or how I was going to write it, but after some good laughs from "The Office" and "Kitchen Nightmares" the words just came spilling out. i never even thought of exercise as something to try, good idea!
